From post office to city quarter: The Posthöfe Vienna is one of the city's special revitalization projects. On around 22,000 m², we transformed a listed building into a modern complex with apartments, hotel, and commercial space – including demanding renovation of existing structures and state-of-the-art building technology.
The Posthöfe Vienna is an outstanding example of the transformation of historical building fabric. The former listed post office building was converted into a versatile city quarter with high architectural quality. On an area of around 22,000 m², 38 apartments, 129 apartment-like hotel units, recreation rooms, as well as office, commercial, and gastronomic areas were created.
One of the biggest challenges in the course of the project was entering an ongoing construction site. Since another electrician had been active before, we had to carry out a comprehensive inventory, evaluate the status quo, and continue the work technically precisely based on this. This required a structured approach and close coordination.
Additional complexity arose from tenant changes during the construction phase, which caused requirements to change at short notice. Thanks to our flexibility, we were nevertheless able to implement the tenant areas individually and as requested.
Despite the changing conditions, we always worked constructively and solution-oriented. The result is a successful, turnkey handover of the entire building, which now combines state-of-the-art technology with historical charm.
